3.2. TL Frequency Response
The λ/2 periodicity over length of Zin, Γin, SWR, etc. is a basic feature of TL’s, and has important implications regarding the TL spatial & spectral behavior as function of electrical length βl.
Stubs
A stub is a section of a TL terminated with a short or open circuit. Among their applications in microwave systems are impedance matching and resonators.
for short stubs (βl << 1), shorted stub Zin ≈ jωLl, open stub Zin ≈ -j/(ωCl).
